Baby's First Christmas D.I.Y Ornament

I've been lacking inspiration lately. In the best way possible, floating around in new mommy utopia. If I do the math I have successfully changed over 1000 diapers and produced well over 2000 ounces of pure gold breast milk. Amazing.

With an exclusively breast fed baby I'm often trapped sitting on my butt. It really is a form of meditation - I couldn't tell you what I think about besides just being grateful for the whole experience. Despite being alone with my thoughts all the time I relied on pinterest for Christmas inspiration this year.

There was lots of versions of this handprint ornament.. Salt Dough, genius!!! I never thought of baking it to keep it's form! When I was little my mom used to make me this as play dough and she would put food coloring in it.. and catch me always trying to eat it... eeuuww lol.

I had everything for this one so it didn't cost me a dime. The dough should make about 10 ornaments and you should allocate about 4-5 hours for it to bake on low heat. I love metallic so I put my own little spin on it with some things I had around the house.

You will need:

Flour
Salt

A Straw
To make a neat hole for the string
String
I used a hemp string from Michael's - always download a coupon
Paint
I recommend spray paint, using a brush messes with the texture I found - I used metallic

Super easy and doesn't need to be a Christmas craft! I'll use this recipe again for sure. If you are using a human baby I recommend a big feeding before hand. My 3 month old was pretty milk drunk for this one!!
