Atlantic Fashion Week

Atlantic Fashion Week has come to an end! Here are a couple of my favorite moments. I love local talent so much. And I LOVE that we at least have Atlantic fashion week as a showcase for some of the unbelievable talent we have here.

I just can't get over this. The piece in the middle is just amazing and genius and gorgeous. And if that didn't blow my mind enough the green detailing on the other two is BEETLE WINGS... amazing. The designers name is Overman and he's from P.E.I. I was introduced to his designs admiring his body chains - check him out, seriously. (Photography by Brent McCombs and Stefanie Glasgow)

Veronica will always be one of my favorite designers! And needless to say a necessary component to AFW!!! She makes Nova Scotia Tartan so sexy and I'm always excited to see what she comes up with. This collection went everywhere from elegant to fierce and there was even handstands on the run way.... perfect. There she is

Sis Ley Tore the run way up in these Gowns, simply stunning. The Left is by Veronica MacIsaac and the Right is a design by Kim Munson (I modeled an upside-down pair of jeans for her once, love her creativity) - An obvious 'Favorite Moment' because the dress is breathtaking.

I love being a part of AFW. My favorite part is without a doubt seeing all the designs. What an honor to be able to play dress up and help such talented designers showcase their art to everybody watching.

And the goodies are good too - Can't quite get enough Redken or Morrocan Oil in my life, and a beautiful scarf from Pamela Matheson (The Esme Original jacket).

A beautiful event on Highfield park drive. Yay Dartmouth! Sushi bars and Fashion Shows.. and Target.

Until next year!

Favorite Thrift Finds (to date)

Here's a-couple of my favorite thrift finds that are too good not to share (in my opinion).

Finding something that I know is one of a kind, second hand, is better than Christmas to me. Wearing those 'one of a kind' pieces remind you of that HAVE TO HAVE IT feeling you had when you saw it. You manage to make it work with 18 different outfits in your closet because it's just that awesome and it makes every outfit that much more YOU (or in this case me). It may not even be something you have the courage to wear, but you buy it anyway because it's supposed to belong to you. My favorites are the ones that are outdated, but still work - they genuinely represent an era.

...and that, my friends, is fashion!

Comic Book Bustier : Salvation Army

Gold Link Waist Best : Salvation Army

Track Jacket : Frenchy's
Link Necklace and Egyptian Bracelet : Value Village

"Where did you get that!?" (I love this part muahaha)

I have a guilty pleasure in typing in all the info off the tag into Google [images] - either while I'm shopping or when I get home. The old ad's are freaking hilarious to look at - and it's funny to see how the brand intended to have it worn. Plus I wanna see the original price!... duh. (For next time)

Here's to a purpose for today :)
